The E-cell of Department of Management, MAIT organized an interactive session on - Block Chain and its adoption. The session was taken by Mr. Apoorv Shankar, Co-Founder of Nikoin, a leading block chain service platform provider in India today.
The session started off with a brief description of historical evolution of Block Chain technology in India and other countries. The speaker covered the following aspects about the Block Chain technology in use around the world today:
- Technology breakdown structures
- Different types of Block Chains in use
- Impact of this Technology on business and social world
- Effect on new Technical solutions coming up in business world
Following this, Speaker covered the most popular and innovative applications of Block Chain technology across various industries.
Various dimensions of popular applications of Block Chain technology like, Bitcoin and Crypto currency were discussed. It was highlighted how the Block Chain technology helps these applications ensure that value is being transacted over the network with complete security, where identity need not be revealed, money is being programmed and smart contracts are made.
The session proved to be a great learning experience for our students. It was concluded by contemplating some directions on government policies for the Block Chain industry and its future prospects.
